Kennai is a family-owned food company rooted in Southern New Jersey built on the belief that everyone deserves food that is both safe and satisfying. We call it fearless eating. After a long hike in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, Michael pulled out a snack bar to attempt to refuel. Meghan, a registered nurse and protective spouse, gasped, "Why are you eating that!" Michael explained how this snack bar was one of the few he could eat without having a severe allergic reaction due to his nut-allergy. Meghan explained how this bar was packed with sugar and empty carbs! While this bar was "safe" for Michael to eat, there had to be a better option - a bar that was both allergy-safe and nutritional, whether as a snack or post-hike fuel. From this conversation, Meghan set out to create a nutrition bar Michael could eat fearlessly and enjoy fully - a bar made with clean ingredients, real nutrition and great taste. Meghan's idea became Kennai.

What started in Meghan's kitchen as a solution for one person quickly grew into something bigger. Family and friends tasted the bars, loved them, and began asking for more. Meghan realized this was not just a personal solution for Michael, it was a solution many people were missing.
